Google is Not Your Friend
Seems like everyone is obsessed with information. Computers, tablets and smartphones have replaced encyclopedias and dictionary’s.
Now if you want to know something, just “Google” it.
Except be careful.
Search for “How do I sign up for Medicare” results in 122 MILLION results. Of course few venture beyond the first couple of pages and those pages are quite crowded.
When I searched that term the top 4 results were paid ads, all had the same purpose. Lure you in and hope that you buy something.
Only 4 of the 14 listings on page one directed you to a government site, either medicare.gov or ssa.gov
I talked to a lady a few weeks ago that bought a plan direct from Medicare, except she didn’t. While I had her on the phone she was searching for answers and landed on a dot-com site.
She bought from Medicare dot-com, not Medicare dot-gov. She bought a plan from an inexperienced agent who gave her some really bad advice.
That’s not the site you want. You should look at dot-gov if you want answers.
The snippets are enticing.
Compare Affordable Medicare Plans. Search All Plans & Prices Online. Search Plans by Zip Code. Get a Free Quote. Find Medicare Plans. Trusted Companies. Insurance coverage: Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D.
Sounds like everything you need, right?
Just be careful out there.
Of course you can always call or email me. You have questions, I have answers.
Never any selling!
