Millions of elderly Americans on Medicare would get dental, vision and hearing insurance added to their health benefits under a proposal pushed Sunday by Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Americans age 65 and older have since the 1960s received subsidized health care coverage under Medicare — but Schumer said the program’s lack of additional benefits leave millions with dental problems and expensive bills for vision and hearing treatments.

Don’t get too excited about this. IF it happens the devil is in the details.  My guess is there is more fluff than substance.

An associate professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, says he has invented something better than any home remedy: a drinking straw that cures hiccups.

My new doctor would not order me a colonoscopy because I had turned 90. Are all doctors like that? My family is loaded with cancer. My mom had two colon cancer surgeries and died at age 99. Why can’t I make my own decision about it?

Colonoscopies are not recommended after age 85.
